Jade Acoustics Inc. was formed by Jim Feilders and Dalila Giusti in April, 1989. Mr. Feilders retired from Jade Acoustics in 2004.
Jade Acoustics Inc. is an acoustical engineering firm providing consulting services to both the private and public sectors. The work includes the control of noise and vibration in the development of land, as well as in the design of buildings and industrial facilities. This includes the impact of a variety of sources such as road traffic, railways, aircraft, industry and mechanical equipment on both residential and commercial uses. Jade Acoustics Inc. also becomes involved in trouble-shooting noise and vibration problems in existing buildings and in working with architects and other consultants to avoid problems in the design of new developments.
The emphasis of the services rendered is on noise and vibration control. A practical and efficient approach is taken to problem solving for clients needing assistance in meeting government regulations for land development, buildings and industry, and for providing a quiet indoor environment for occupants.
Jade Acoustics Inc. has a Certificate of Authorization from the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). All Professional Engineers in the firm are able to provide their professional stamp on work done to satisfy various approval agencies.
Jade Acoustics Inc. maintains a professional business office and is fully insured. The philosophy of engineering quality control includes mandatory review of all documentation by a principal before leaving the office. Jade Acoustics staff remains current on acoustic measurement procedures and models as well as local, national and international guidelines.
Jade Acoustics Inc. maintains membership in the Canadian Acoustics Association and the Institute for Noise Control in Engineering and attends conferences on a regular basis. In addition, an up-to-date library of textbooks, standards, guidelines, by-laws and test data is kept. All staff are trained, equipped and certified for various on-site safety procedures such as CN Rail Safety and Basic Fall Protection.
A professional relationship with other consultants in the acoustics field as well as related fields has always been in place. Jade Acoustics Inc. maintains a good working relationship with the noise units at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Health Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and various municipalities.
Contacts with testing laboratories, product manufacturers, suppliers and installers are available to assist Jade's clients when needed.
