Jade Acoustics Inc.
A Brief Overview
Jade Acoustics Inc. specializes in noise and vibration control. The company has a Certificate of Authorization from the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO). All Professional Engineers in the firm are able to provide their professional stamp on work done to satisfy various approval agencies. Typical examples are applications for building permits and Certificates of Approval. When expert testimony is required on behalf of our clients, the credentials of a professional engineer are regarded favourably by the courts.
The Ontario Ministry of the Environment is responsible for review of submissions through its Approvals Branch for industrial operations. The noise assessment unit maintains a list of approved consulting firms which includes Jade Acoustics Inc. A good working relationship with the noise unit has been developed and maintained over many years by the staff at Jade.
The PEO advises all consulting engineering firms to carry professional liability insurance for any errors or omissions that could occur during the course of their work. The insurance requirement is not mandatory but, for those firms not carrying it, a clear disclosure must be made to all clients prior to commencement of any engineering services. Jade Acoustics Inc. is fully insured. Future changes to the Professional Engineers Act will require mandatory insurance.
Jade Acoustics Inc. maintains a professional business office. The philosophy of engineering quality control includes involvement of at least one principal in all projects and mandatory review of all documentation by a principal before leaving the office. All projects conducted by individuals are discussed with and reviewed by a principal. This includes work by the principals themselves. The reasoning is that a second opinion or input can always improve the final result. Also, someone is always available to discuss any project when staff are on vacation.
Jade Acoustics Inc. maintains membership in the Canadian Acoustics Association and the Institute for Noise Control in Engineering and attends conferences on a regular basis. In addition, an up-to-date library of textbooks, standards, etc. is kept.
A professional relationship with other consultants in the acoustics field as well as related fields has always been in place.
Contacts with testing laboratories, product manufacturers, suppliers and installers are available to assist Jade's clients when needed.
Jade Acoustics Inc. values its clients and strives to provide the best service possible. Extra attention is taken to analyze specific situations such that the client has a full understanding of the minimum legal obligation in terms of noise control measures as well as that which Jade would recommend as appropriate in terms of satisfying the end consumer or concerned neighbour. Time is taken at the start of a project to determine the most cost effective and efficient way to conduct the work in order to minimize overall costs. Sometimes, a more detailed analysis can save much in capital costs later on.
We would like you to be a regular client of Jade Acoustics Inc. and would be pleased to answer any of your questions regarding our business. Let us know if you would like one of our company brochures that explains the work we do, gives sample projects and clients and provides c.v.'s of the principals.
